لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ، إِنَّمَا الشَّدِيدُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger."

إِنَّ الصِّدْقَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْبِرِّ وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَصْدُقُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ صِدِّيقًا وَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْفُجُورِ وَإِنَّ الْفُجُورَ يَهْدِي إِلَى النَّارِ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَكْذِبُ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ كَذَّابًا

Narrated 'Abdullah: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a truthful person. Falsehood leads to wickedness (Al-Fajur), and wickedness leads to the (Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah as a liar."

مَا مِنْ شَىْءٍ أَثْقَلُ فِي الْمِيزَانِ مِنْ حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ

Narrated AbudDarda': The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There is nothing heavier than good character put in the scale of a believer on the Day of Resurrection."

الْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ وَالْمُهَاجِرُ مَنْ هَجَرَ مَا نَهَى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands. And a Muhajir (emigrant) is the one who gives up (abandons) all what Allah has forbidden."

مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَلاَ يُؤْذِ جَارَهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not hurt his neighbor; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should serve his guest generously; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should speak what is good or keep silent."

الْحَيَاءُ لاَ يَأْتِي إِلاَّ بِخَيْرٍ. فَقَالَ بُشَيْرُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ: مَكْتُوبٌ فِي الْحِكْمَةِ إِنَّ مِنَ الْحَيَاءِ وَقَارًا وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْحَيَاءِ سَكِينَةً. فَقَالَ لَهُ عِمْرَانُ: أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَتُحَدِّثُنِي عَنْ صَحِيفَتِكَ

Narrated Abu As-Sawar Al-Adawi: 'Imran bin Husain said, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Haya' (pious shyness) does not bring anything except good." Thereupon Bashir bin Ka'b said, "It is written in the wisdom paper: Haya' leads to solemnity; Haya' leads to tranquility (peace of mind)." 'Imran said to him, "I am narrating to you the saying of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and you are speaking about your paper (wisdom book)?"

أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْغِيبَةُ؟ قَالُوا: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ: ذِكْرُكَ أَخَاكَ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ. قِيلَ: أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ فِي أَخِي مَا أَقُولُ؟ قَالَ: إِنْ كَانَ فِيهِ مَا تَقُولُ فَقَدِ اغْتَبْتَهُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ فَقَدْ بَهَتَّهُ

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: "Do you know what is backbiting?" They (the Companions) said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: "Backbiting implies your talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like." It was said to him: What is your opinion if I actually find (that failing) in my brother which I made mention of? He said: "If (that failing) is actually found (in him) what you assert, you in fact backbited him, and if that is not in him it is a slander."

أَدِّ الأَمَانَةَ إِلَى مَنِ ائْتَمَنَكَ وَلاَ تَخُنْ مَنْ خَانَكَ

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Pay the deposit to him who deposited it with you, and do not betray him who betrays you."

اتَّقِ اللَّهَ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ وَأَتْبِعِ السَّيِّئَةَ الْحَسَنَةَ تَمْحُهَا وَخَالِقِ النَّاسَ بِخُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ

Abu Dharr said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me, "Have Taqwa of Allah wherever you are, and follow an evil deed with a good one to wipe it out, and treat the people with good behavior."

لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ مِنْ كِبْرٍ

Abdullah ibn Masud reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "No one who has the weight of a seed of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise."

الدِّينُ النَّصِيحَةُ. قُلْنَا لِمَنْ؟ قَالَ: لِلَّهِ وَلِكِتَابِهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَامَّتِهِمْ

Tamim al-Dari reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The religion is sincere counsel." We said: "For whom?" He said: "For Allah, for His Book, for His Messenger, for the leaders of the Muslims, and for their common people."

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى أَجْسَامِكُمْ وَلاَ إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Verily, Allah does not look at your bodies, nor at your faces, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds."

إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَمِيلٌ يُحِبُّ الْجَمَالَ

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one will enter Paradise who has even a mustard seed of arrogance in his heart." A man asked, "What about a man who likes his clothes to be nice and his shoes to be nice?" He ﷺ replied, "Verily Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on people."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَوْصِنِي قَالَ لاَ تَغْضَبْ فَرَدَّدَ مِرَارًا قَالَ لاَ تَغْضَبْ

Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, 'Advise me!' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Do not become angry and furious.' The man asked the same again and again, and the Prophet ﷺ said in each case, 'Do not become angry and furious.'

كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ الإِمَامُ رَاعٍ وَمَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ وَالرَّجُلُ رَاعٍ فِي أَهْلِهِ وَهُوَ مَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ وَالْمَرْأَةُ رَاعِيَةٌ فِي بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا وَمَسْئُولَةٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهَا وَالْخَادِمُ رَاعٍ فِي مَالِ سَيِّدِهِ وَمَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar (RA): Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, 'Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The leader of people is a shepherd and is responsible for his subjects. A man is the shepherd of his family and is responsible for them. A woman is the shepherd of her husband's home and of his children and is responsible for them. The servant is a shepherd of his master's property and is responsible for it. Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.'

آيَةُ الْمُنَافِقِ ثَلاَثٌ إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ وَإِذَا اؤْتُمِنَ خَانَ

Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Prophet ﷺ said, 'The signs of a hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted, he betrays.'

لَيْسَ الْمُؤْمِنُ بِالطَّعَّانِ وَلاَ اللَّعَّانِ وَلاَ الْفَاحِشِ وَلاَ الْبَذِيءِ

Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA) reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, 'A believer is not a taunter, nor a curser, nor indecent, nor coarse in speech.'

إِنَّ مِنْ إِجْلَالِ اللَّهِ إِكْرَامَ ذِي الشَّيْبَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ وَحَامِلِ الْقُرْآنِ غَيْرِ الْغَالِي فِيهِ وَالْجَافِي عَنْهُ وَإِكْرَامَ ذِي السُّلْطَانِ الْمُقْسِطِ

Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'Indeed, from the exaltation due to Allah is honouring an aged Muslim, honouring the one who carries the Quran without going to extremes in it or abandoning it, and honouring a just ruler.'

إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ وَلَا تَحَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَنَافَسُوا وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, 'Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst form of lying. Do not spy on one another, do not eavesdrop, do not compete with one another, do not envy one another, do not hate one another, and do not turn away from one another. Be, O servants of Allah, brothers.'

مَا عَابَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم طَعَامًا قَطُّ إِنِ اشْتَهَاهُ أَكَلَهُ وَإِنْ كَرِهَهُ تَرَكَهُ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) never criticised food at all. If he liked it he ate it, and if he disliked it he left it alone.

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَالْبَسُوا وَتَصَدَّقُوا فِي غَيْرِ إِسْرَافٍ وَلَا مَخِيلَةٍ

Narrated Ibn Abbas (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'Eat, drink, wear clothes and give in charity — without extravagance and without arrogance.'

الْبِرُّ حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ وَالإِثْمُ مَا حَاكَ فِي صَدْرِكَ وَكَرِهْتَ أَنْ يَطَّلِعَ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ

Narrated An-Nawwas ibn Sam'an (RA): I asked the Messenger of Allah (SAW) about righteousness and sin. He said, "Righteousness is good character, and sin is what wavers in your chest and you dislike that people should come to know of it."

إِنَّ مِنْ خِيَارِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ أَخْلاَقًا

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr (RA): The Prophet (SAW) never used bad language, nor did he speak obscenely. He used to say, "The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character."

أَنَا زَعِيمٌ بِبَيْتٍ فِي رَبَضِ الْجَنَّةِ لِمَنْ تَرَكَ الْمِرَاءَ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُحِقًّا وَبِبَيْتٍ فِي وَسَطِ الْجَنَّةِ لِمَنْ تَرَكَ الْكَذِبَ وَإِنْ كَانَ مَازِحًا وَبِبَيْتٍ فِي أَعْلَى الْجَنَّةِ لِمَنْ حَسَّنَ خُلُقَهُ

Narrated Abu Umamah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarrelling even if he were in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in the upper part of Paradise for a man who makes his character good."

الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا ـ أَوْ قَالَ حَتَّى يَتَفَرَّقَا ـ فَإِنْ صَدَقَا وَبَيَّنَا بُورِكَ لَهُمَا فِي بَيْعِهِمَا، وَإِنْ كَتَمَا وَكَذَبَا مُحِقَتْ بَرَكَةُ بَيْعِهِمَا

Narrated Hakim ibn Hizam (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "The seller and the buyer have the option [to cancel] as long as they have not parted. If both spoke the truth and made things clear, they will be blessed in their transaction; but if they concealed and lied, the blessing of their transaction will be wiped out."

إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَوْحَى إِلَىَّ أَنْ تَوَاضَعُوا حَتَّى لاَ يَبْغِيَ أَحَدٌ عَلَى أَحَدٍ وَلاَ يَفْخَرَ أَحَدٌ عَلَى أَحَدٍ

Narrated Iyad ibn Himar (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Allah has revealed to me that you must be humble, so that no one oppresses another and no one boasts over another."

كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي مِهْنَةِ أَهْلِهِ ـ تَعْنِي خِدْمَةَ أَهْلِهِ ـ فَإِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ

Narrated Al-Aswad: I asked Aisha (RA), "What did the Prophet (SAW) use to do in his house?" She replied, "He used to keep himself busy serving his family, and when it was time for prayer he would go out to pray."

الإِيمَانُ بِضْعٌ وَسِتُّونَ شُعْبَةً، وَالْحَيَاءُ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Faith consists of more than sixty branches, and haya [modesty and bashfulness] is a branch of faith."

قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا أَغْنَى الشُّرَكَاءِ عَنِ الشِّرْكِ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلاً أَشْرَكَ فِيهِ مَعِي غَيْرِي تَرَكْتُهُ وَشِرْكَهُ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said that Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: "I am the One who is most free of need of any partner. Whoever does a deed in which he associates anyone else with Me, I abandon him and his association."

مَنْ سَمَّعَ سَمَّعَ اللَّهُ بِهِ، وَمَنْ يُرَائِي يُرَائِي اللَّهُ بِهِ

Narrated Jundub (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Whoever does good deeds to be heard of [by people], Allah will make his true intention heard of; and whoever does good deeds to be seen, Allah will expose his true intention."

إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مَا يَتَبَيَّنُ فِيهَا، يَزِلُّ بِهَا فِي النَّارِ أَبْعَدَ مِمَّا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): He heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, "A servant may utter a word without thinking whether it is right or wrong, and because of it he slips into the Fire farther than the distance between the east [and the west]."

مَنْ يَضْمَنْ لِي مَا بَيْنَ لَحْيَيْهِ وَمَا بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ أَضْمَنْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةَ

Narrated Sahl ibn Sa'd (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Whoever can guarantee [the chastity of] what is between his two jaw-bones and what is between his two legs — his tongue and his private parts — I guarantee Paradise for him."

فَإِذَا ضُيِّعَتِ الأَمَانَةُ فَانْتَظِرِ السَّاعَةَ. قَالَ كَيْفَ إِضَاعَتُهَا قَالَ إِذَا وُسِّدَ الأَمْرُ إِلَى غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِ فَانْتَظِرِ السَّاعَةَ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): A Bedouin asked the Prophet (SAW) when the Hour would be. The Prophet (SAW) said, "When trust is lost, then wait for the Hour." The Bedouin asked, "How will it be lost?" He said, "When authority is given to those who are not fit for it, then wait for the Hour."

إِذَا غَضِبَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ فَلْيَجْلِسْ فَإِنْ ذَهَبَ عَنْهُ الْغَضَبُ وَإِلاَّ فَلْيَضْطَجِعْ

Narrated Abu Dharr (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to us, "When one of you becomes angry while standing, he should sit down. If the anger leaves him, well and good; otherwise he should lie down."

تَجِدُ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ذَا الْوَجْهَيْنِ، الَّذِي يَأْتِي هَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ وَهَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "You will find among the worst of people in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection the two-faced person, who comes to some people with one face and to others with another face."

لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَتَّاتٌ

Narrated Hudhayfah (RA): I heard the Prophet (SAW) say, "A tale-bearer [one who spreads gossip to cause trouble] will not enter Paradise."

كُلُّ أُمَّتِي مُعَافًى إِلاَّ الْمُجَاهِرِينَ، وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْمَجَانَةِ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ الرَّجُلُ بِاللَّيْلِ عَمَلاً، ثُمَّ يُصْبِحَ وَقَدْ سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ، فَيَقُولَ يَا فُلاَنُ عَمِلْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا، وَقَدْ بَاتَ يَسْتُرُهُ رَبُّهُ وَيُصْبِحُ يَكْشِفُ سِتْرَ اللَّهِ عَنْهُ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, "All of my Ummah will be pardoned except those who sin openly. Part of that is that a man does a deed at night, Allah conceals it for him, and then in the morning he says, 'O so-and-so, last night I did such-and-such' — his Lord had concealed it overnight, yet in the morning he removes Allah's cover from himself."

إِنَّ مِنْ أَحَبِّكُمْ إِلَىَّ وَأَقْرَبِكُمْ مِنِّي مَجْلِسًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَحَاسِنَكُمْ أَخْلاَقًا وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَىَّ وَأَبْعَدَكُمْ مِنِّي مَجْلِسًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الثَّرْثَارُونَ وَالْمُتَشَدِّقُونَ وَالْمُتَفَيْهِقُونَ

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "The most beloved of you to me and the nearest to me in seating on the Day of Resurrection are those of you best in character. And the most disliked of you to me and the furthest from me on the Day of Resurrection are the prattlers, the boasters and the mutafayhiqun." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we know the prattlers and the boasters, but who are the mutafayhiqun?" He said, "The arrogant."

وَيْلٌ لِلَّذِي يُحَدِّثُ فَيَكْذِبُ لِيُضْحِكَ بِهِ الْقَوْمَ وَيْلٌ لَهُ وَيْلٌ لَهُ

Narrated Mu'awiyah ibn Haydah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Woe to the one who speaks and lies to make people laugh. Woe to him! Woe to him!"

مَا هَذَا يَا صَاحِبَ الطَّعَامِ. قَالَ أَصَابَتْهُ السَّمَاءُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ. قَالَ أَفَلاَ جَعَلْتَهُ فَوْقَ الطَّعَامِ كَىْ يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ مَنْ غَشَّ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) passed by a heap of food and put his hand into it, and his fingers became wet. He said, "What is this, O owner of the food?" He said, "It was hit by rain, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Why did you not put it on top so that people could see it? Whoever cheats is not of me."

مَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ نَبِيًّا إِلاَّ رَعَى الْغَنَمَ. فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُهُ وَأَنْتَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ كُنْتُ أَرْعَاهَا عَلَى قَرَارِيطَ لأَهْلِ مَكَّةَ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Allah did not send any prophet except that he herded sheep." His companions asked, "And you?" He said, "Yes, I used to herd them for the people of Makkah for a few qirats."

ثَلاَثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وَجَدَ حَلاَوَةَ الإِيمَانِ أَنْ يَكُونَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا، وَأَنْ يُحِبَّ الْمَرْءَ لاَ يُحِبُّهُ إِلاَّ لِلَّهِ، وَأَنْ يَكْرَهَ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي الْكُفْرِ كَمَا يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُقْذَفَ فِي النَّارِ

Narrated Anas ibn Malik (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Whoever has three qualities will taste the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than anything else; that he loves a person only for the sake of Allah; and that he hates to return to disbelief as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire."

أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ طَيِّبٌ لاَ يَقْبَلُ إِلاَّ طَيِّبًا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِمَا أَمَرَ بِهِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ فَقَالَ { يَا أَيُّهَا الرُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ} وَقَالَ { يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ}. ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الرَّجُلَ يُطِيلُ السَّفَرَ أَشْعَثَ أَغْبَرَ يَمُدُّ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ يَا رَبِّ يَا رَبِّ وَمَطْعَمُهُ حَرَامٌ وَمَشْرَبُهُ حَرَامٌ وَمَلْبَسُهُ حَرَامٌ وَغُذِيَ بِالْحَرَامِ فَأَنَّى يُسْتَجَابُ لِذَلِكَ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "O people, Allah is pure and accepts only what is pure. Allah has commanded the believers with what He commanded the Messengers..." Then he mentioned a man who travels far, dishevelled and dusty, raising his hands to the sky: 'O Lord! O Lord!' — while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful and he has been nourished with the unlawful. "So how can he be answered?"
