اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ

Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity."

طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim."

مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ وَمَا زَادَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا بِعَفْوٍ إِلاَّ عِزًّا وَمَا تَوَاضَعَ أَحَدٌ لِلَّهِ إِلاَّ رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Charity does not decrease wealth. Allah increases only in honor the one who pardons. And whoever humbles himself for the sake of Allah, Allah elevates him."

أَنَا وَكَافِلُ الْيَتِيمِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ هَكَذَا. وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى وَفَرَّجَ بَيْنَهُمَا شَيْئًا

Sahl ibn Sa'd reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be in Paradise like these two" — and he pointed with his index finger and middle finger, holding them close together.

خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ

Narrated Uthman ibn Affan (RA): The Prophet ﷺ said, "The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it."

إِذَا مَاتَ الإِنْسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ: إِلَّا مِنْ صَدَقَةٍ جَارِيَةٍ، أَوْ عِلْمٍ يُنْتَفَعُ بِهِ، أَوْ وَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: an ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah), beneficial knowledge that others act upon, or a righteous child who prays for him."

اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شَفِيعًا لأَصْحَابِهِ

Narrated Abu Umama al-Bahili (RA): I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Recite the Quran, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions.'

مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَضَاءَ لَهُ مِنَ النُّورِ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَتَيْنِ

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA) reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever reads Surah al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him between the two Fridays.'

إِنَّ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ثَلَاثُونَ آيَةً شَفَعَتْ لِرَجُلٍ حَتَّى غُفِرَ لَهُ وَهِيَ سُورَةُ تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ

Ibn Abbas (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A surah of the Quran with thirty verses interceded for its reader until he was forgiven. It is: Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion (Surah Al-Mulk).'

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ هِيَ السَّبْعُ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنُ الْعَظِيمُ الَّذِي أُوتِيتُهُ

Narrated Abu Sa'id ibn al-Mu'alla (RA): I was praying when the Prophet ﷺ called me, but I did not respond until I had finished. Then I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I was praying.' He ﷺ said: 'Did not Allah say: Respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you?' He then said: 'Shall I not teach you the greatest surah in the Quran before you leave the mosque?' Then as we were about to leave, he said: 'It is: Al-Hamdulillahi Rabbil-'alamin — it is the seven oft-repeated verses (as-sab'ul mathani) and the great Quran that has been given to me.'

مَنْ قَرَأَ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ مَكْتُوبَةٍ لَمْ يَمْنَعْهُ مِنْ دُخُولِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَمُوتَ

Narrated Abu Umamah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise except death.'

مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يَبْتَغِي بِهِ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

Narrated 'Uthman ibn 'Affan (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'Whoever builds a mosque seeking the pleasure of Allah, Allah will build for him a similar house in Paradise.'

إِنَّ لِلَّهِ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ اسْمًا مِائَةً إِلَّا وَاحِدًا مَنْ أَحْصَاهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'Allah has ninety-nine names — one hundred minus one. Whoever learns and preserves them all will enter Paradise.'

مَنْ قَرَأَ الْآيَتَيْنِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ كَفَتَاهُ

Narrated Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him (protect him).'

مَنْ تَصَدَّقَ بِعَدْلِ تَمْرَةٍ مِنْ كَسْبٍ طَيِّبٍ ـ وَلاَ يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ إِلاَّ الطَّيِّبَ ـ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَتَقَبَّلُهَا بِيَمِينِهِ، ثُمَّ يُرَبِّيهَا لِصَاحِبِهِ كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ فَلُوَّهُ حَتَّى تَكُونَ مِثْلَ الْجَبَلِ

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Whoever gives in charity the equivalent of a date from good, lawful earnings — and Allah accepts only what is good — Allah accepts it with His right hand and then nurtures it for its giver, just as one of you raises a foal, until it becomes like a mountain."

مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ يُصْبِحُ الْعِبَادُ فِيهِ إِلاَّ مَلَكَانِ يَنْزِلاَنِ فَيَقُولُ أَحَدُهُمَا اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُنْفِقًا خَلَفًا، وَيَقُولُ الآخَرُ اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُمْسِكًا تَلَفًا

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "There is no day on which the servants wake up except that two angels descend. One of them says, 'O Allah, give the one who spends a replacement,' and the other says, 'O Allah, give the one who withholds destruction [of his wealth].'"

الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ، وَخَيْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى، وَمَنْ يَسْتَعْفِفْ يُعِفَّهُ اللَّهُ، وَمَنْ يَسْتَغْنِ يُغْنِهِ اللَّهُ

Narrated Hakim ibn Hizam (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "The upper hand is better than the lower hand. Begin with those you support. The best charity is that given out of surplus. Whoever seeks to refrain [from asking], Allah will make him chaste, and whoever seeks self-sufficiency, Allah will make him self-sufficient."

مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ، وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا قَاسِمٌ وَاللَّهُ يُعْطِي، وَلَنْ تَزَالَ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةُ قَائِمَةً عَلَى أَمْرِ اللَّهِ لاَ يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ

Narrated Mu'awiyah (RA): I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, "When Allah wants good for a person, He gives him understanding of the religion. I am only a distributor, and Allah is the Giver. This nation will remain firm upon the command of Allah, unharmed by those who oppose them, until the command of Allah comes."

بَلِّغُوا عَنِّي وَلَوْ آيَةً، وَحَدِّثُوا عَنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلاَ حَرَجَ، وَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَىَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Convey from me, even if it is a single verse. Narrate from the Children of Israel, and there is no harm in that. And whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his seat in the Fire."

مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَطْلُبُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا مِنْ طُرُقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ لَتَضَعُ أَجْنِحَتَهَا رِضًا لِطَالِبِ الْعِلْمِ وَإِنَّ الْعَالِمَ لَيَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَالْحِيتَانُ فِي جَوْفِ الْمَاءِ وَإِنَّ فَضْلَ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الْكَوَاكِبِ وَإِنَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ وَرَثَةُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَإِنَّ الأَنْبِيَاءَ لَمْ يُوَرِّثُوا دِينَارًا وَلاَ دِرْهَمًا وَرَّثُوا الْعِلْمَ فَمَنْ أَخَذَهُ أَخَذَ بِحَظٍّ وَافِرٍ

Narrated Abu ad-Darda (RA): I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, "Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel a path of Paradise. The angels lower their wings in pleasure with the seeker of knowledge, and those in the heavens and the earth, even the fish in the depths of the water, ask forgiveness for the scholar. The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like that of the full moon over the rest of the stars. The scholars are the heirs of the prophets; the prophets left neither dinar nor dirham — they left only knowledge, and whoever takes it has taken an abundant share."

عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ صَدَقَةٌ. قَالُوا فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ قَالَ فَيَعْمَلُ بِيَدَيْهِ فَيَنْفَعُ نَفْسَهُ وَيَتَصَدَّقُ. قَالُوا فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أَوْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ قَالَ فَيُعِينُ ذَا الْحَاجَةِ الْمَلْهُوفَ. قَالُوا فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ قَالَ فَيَأْمُرُ بِالْخَيْرِ. أَوْ قَالَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ. قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ قَالَ فَيُمْسِكُ عَنِ الشَّرِّ، فَإِنَّهُ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ

Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Every Muslim must give charity." They asked, "What if he has nothing?" He said, "Let him work with his hands, benefit himself and give charity." They asked, "What if he cannot?" He said, "Let him help the one in desperate need." They asked, "What if he does not?" He said, "Let him enjoin good." They asked, "What if he does not?" He said, "Let him refrain from evil, for that is charity for him."

لاَ حَسَدَ إِلاَّ فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَسُلِّطَ عَلَى هَلَكَتِهِ فِي الْحَقِّ، وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْحِكْمَةَ، فَهْوَ يَقْضِي بِهَا وَيُعَلِّمُهَا

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "There is no envy except in two: a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right way, and a man whom Allah has given wisdom and he judges by it and teaches it."

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ انْتِزَاعًا، يَنْتَزِعُهُ مِنَ الْعِبَادِ، وَلَكِنْ يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ بِقَبْضِ الْعُلَمَاءِ، حَتَّى إِذَا لَمْ يُبْقِ عَالِمًا، اتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ رُءُوسًا جُهَّالاً فَسُئِلُوا، فَأَفْتَوْا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ، فَضَلُّوا وَأَضَلُّوا

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (RA): I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, "Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people, but He takes it away by taking the lives of the scholars, until when no scholar remains, people take ignorant leaders who, when asked, give rulings without knowledge — so they go astray and lead others astray."

فَضْلُ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِي عَلَى أَدْنَاكُمْ. ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ وَأَهْلَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ حَتَّى النَّمْلَةَ فِي جُحْرِهَا وَحَتَّى الْحُوتَ لَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَى مُعَلِّمِ النَّاسِ الْخَيْرَ

Narrated Abu Umamah al-Bahili (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like my superiority over the least of you." Then he said, "Indeed Allah, His angels, and the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth — even the ant in its hole and even the fish — send blessings upon the one who teaches people good."
