Oppression Will Be Darkness on the Day of Resurrection
اتَّقُوا الظُّلْمَ فَإِنَّ الظُّلْمَ ظُلُمَاتٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَاتَّقُوا الشُّحَّ فَإِنَّ الشُّحَّ أَهْلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ حَمَلَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْ سَفَكُوا دِمَاءَهُمْ وَاسْتَحَلُّوا مَحَارِمَهُمْ
Transliteration
Ittaquz-zulma fa-innaz-zulma zulumatun yawmal-qiyamah, wattaqush-shuhha fa-innash-shuhha ahlaka man kana qablakum
Translation
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Beware of oppression, for oppression will be darkness on the Day of Resurrection. And beware of stinginess, for stinginess destroyed those who came before you: it drove them to shed their blood and treat as lawful what was sacred to them."
