Every Prophet Was Sent After Herding Sheep
مَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ نَبِيًّا إِلاَّ رَعَى الْغَنَمَ. فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُهُ وَأَنْتَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ كُنْتُ أَرْعَاهَا عَلَى قَرَارِيطَ لأَهْلِ مَكَّةَ
Transliteration
Ma ba'athallahu nabiyyan illa ra'al-ghanam. Faqala ashabuh: wa ant? Faqal: na'am, kuntu ar'aha 'ala qararita li-ahli Makkah
Translation
Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Allah did not send any prophet except that he herded sheep." His companions asked, "And you?" He said, "Yes, I used to herd them for the people of Makkah for a few qirats."
