Duas for Protection from Hellfire
The Quran and Sunnah contain many duas asking Allah to save us from the punishment of the Fire. These are the authentic ones, each with its Arabic text, transliteration, meaning and the verse or hadith it comes from.
6 authentic duas
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Open this duaرَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا إِنَّهَا سَاءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا
Rabbanasrif 'anna 'adhaba jahannam, inna 'adhabaha kana gharama, innaha sa'at mustaqarran wa muqama
Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering; indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence.
Open this duaرَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana innana amanna faghfir lana dhunubana wa qina 'adhaban-nar
Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Open this duaرَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana ma khalaqta hadha batilan subhanaka faqina 'adhaban-nar
Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Open this duaاللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabri, wa min 'adhabin-nar, wa min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat, wa min sharri fitnatil-masihid-Dajjal
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, the punishment of the Fire, the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal).
Open this duaاللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ جِبْرَائِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَرَبَّ إِسْرَافِيلَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ حَرِّ النَّارِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ
Allahumma rabba Jibra'ila wa Mika'ila wa rabba Israfil, a'udhu bika min harrin-nari wa min 'adhabil-qabr
O Allah, Lord of Jibril and Mika'il and Lord of Israfil, I seek refuge in You from the heat of the Fire and from the punishment of the grave.
