This World Compared to the Hereafter Is a Finger Dipped in the Ocean
Transliteration
Wallahi mad-dunya fil-akhirati illa mithlu ma yaj'alu ahadukum isba'ahu hadhihi fil-yamm, falyanzur bima yarji'
Translation
Narrated Al-Mustawrid (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "By Allah, this world in comparison to the Hereafter is like one of you dipping his finger into the ocean — let him see what it brings back."
Practice This Today
When something worldly upsets or excites you today, remember the drop of water on a finger compared to the ocean. Invest in the ocean.
