Planting a Tree Is Continuous Charity

✓ Sahih
Sahih al-Bukhari · 2320·Narrated by Anas ibn Malik (RA)

Transliteration

Ma min muslimin yaghrisu gharsan aw yazra'u zar'an fa-ya'kulu minhu tayrun aw insanun aw bahimatun illa kana lahu bihi sadaqah

Translation

Narrated Anas ibn Malik (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "There is no Muslim who plants a tree or sows a seed, and then a bird, a person or an animal eats from it, except that it is regarded as charity for him."

Practice This Today

Plant something today — a tree, a seed, or even a pot plant — or support a tree-planting project. Every creature that benefits is charity for you.
