The Servant Is Nearest to His Lord in Prostration
Sahih Muslim · 482·Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (RA)
أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ
Transliteration
Aqrabu mā yakūnu-l-'abdu min rabbihi wa huwa sājid, fa-akthirū-d-du'ā'
Translation
Abu Huraira (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The servant is nearest to his Lord when he is in prostration, so increase your supplication in it.'
Practice This Today
In each prostration today, pause before rising and pour your heart out to Allah. This is the closest you will be to Him all day.
