A Single Careless Word Can Cast a Person Into the Fire

✓ Sahih
Sahih al-Bukhari · 6477·Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (RA)

Transliteration

Innal-'abda layatakallamu bil-kalimati ma yatabayyanu fiha, yazillu biha fin-nari ab'ada mimma baynal-mashriq

Translation

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): He heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, "A servant may utter a word without thinking whether it is right or wrong, and because of it he slips into the Fire farther than the distance between the east [and the west]."
