All My Ummah Will Be Forgiven Except Those Who Expose Their Own Sins

✓ Sahih
Sahih al-Bukhari · 6069·Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (RA)

Transliteration

Translation

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say, "All of my Ummah will be pardoned except those who sin openly. Part of that is that a man does a deed at night, Allah conceals it for him, and then in the morning he says, 'O so-and-so, last night I did such-and-such' — his Lord had concealed it overnight, yet in the morning he removes Allah's cover from himself."

Practice This Today

If you slip, repent privately to Allah — never post, boast or joke about a sin. Treasure the cover Allah gives you.
