Avoid the Seven Destructive Sins
Transliteration
Ijtanibus-sab'al-mubiqat. Qalu: ya rasulallah, wa ma hunna? Qal: ash-shirku billah, was-sihr, wa qatlun-nafsil-lati harramallahu illa bil-haqq, wa aklur-riba, wa aklu malil-yatim, wat-tawalli yawmaz-zahf, wa qadhful-muhsanatil-mu'minatil-ghafilat
Translation
Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "Avoid the seven destructive sins." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what are they?" He said, "Associating partners with Allah, sorcery, killing a soul Allah has made sacred except by right, consuming riba, consuming the wealth of an orphan, fleeing on the day of battle, and slandering chaste, innocent believing women."
Practice This Today
Audit your life for the seven: check your finances for riba, guard any orphan's rights, and never repeat accusations against anyone's honour.
