Dua for Fear of Allah, Obedience and Certainty
اللَّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لَنَا مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ مَا يَحُولُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ مَعَاصِيكَ وَمِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مَا تُبَلِّغُنَا بِهِ جَنَّتَكَ وَمِنَ الْيَقِينِ مَا تُهَوِّنُ بِهِ عَلَيْنَا مُصِيبَاتِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَتِّعْنَا بِأَسْمَاعِنَا وَأَبْصَارِنَا وَقُوَّتِنَا مَا أَحْيَيْتَنَا وَاجْعَلْهُ الْوَارِثَ مِنَّا وَاجْعَلْ ثَأْرَنَا عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى مَنْ عَادَانَا وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ مُصِيبَتَنَا فِي دِينِنَا وَلاَ تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّنَا وَلاَ مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِنَا وَلاَ تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيْنَا مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمُنَا
Transliteration
Allahummaqsim lana min khashyatika ma yahulu baynana wa bayna ma'asika, wa min ta'atika ma tuballighuna bihi jannatak, wa minal-yaqini ma tuhawwinu bihi 'alayna musibatid-dunya, wa matti'na bi-asma'ina wa absarina wa quwwatina ma ahyaytana, waj'alhul-waritha minna, waj'al tha'rana 'ala man zalamana, wansurna 'ala man 'adana, wa la taj'al musibatana fi dinina, wa la taj'alid-dunya akbara hammina wa la mablagha 'ilmina, wa la tusallit 'alayna man la yarhamuna
Translation
O Allah, apportion for us such fear of You as will come between us and disobedience to You; such obedience to You as will bring us to Your Paradise; and such certainty as will make the calamities of this world easy for us. Let us enjoy our hearing, our sight and our strength for as long as You keep us alive, and make that the inheritor from us. Let our vengeance be upon those who wronged us, and aid us against those who show enmity to us. Do not let our calamity be in our religion, do not make this world our greatest concern nor the limit of our knowledge, and do not give power over us to those who will not have mercy on us.
